Here’s How Serena Vista Apartments Will Help You Live a Sustainable Lifestyle

Did you know that Americans consume 3.9 trillion gallons of water per month? That means the average American household consumes about 127,400 gallons of water every year. While people waste gallons of water on things like washing their clothes and dishes, showering, and flushing toilets, many places throughout the world face significant water shortages. Southern California is one area that regularly faces serious droughts.

Here at Serena Vista Apartments, we want to do all we can to protect the environment and promote a sustainable lifestyle. We do this not only by preserving water, but also by reducing unnecessary waste. Here are three ways we live green at Serena Vista.

We Save on Water

Since Fountain Valley is prone to droughts, we do all we can to use water sparingly. To start, our property has drought-tolerant landscaping, which means we use plants that don’t require much water, including succulents. We also installed a drip irrigation system and replaced some grass and mulch areas with beautiful stone. These changes allow us to save so much water every year.

Our plumbing system also helps us preserve water. While most toilets use about 3.5 gallons of water every time they flush, our low-flow toilets use about 20 percent less water than regular toilets. You wouldn’t believe the difference one toilet can make: Each low-flow toilet saves up to 13,000 gallons of water per year!

We Save on Paper and Plastic

At Serena Vista, we do everything that usually requires paper—rent payments, service requests, applications, and notices—online. Not only is this more convenient for our residents, but it eliminates the need for unnecessary paper waste.

In our community, we strive to provide quality services to help make your life as a resident a little easier. Visit our new resident portal to pay your rent online, enter a maintenance service request, browse our calendar for upcoming activities, and much more!

In addition to this, we have a water bottle refill station on the property. By using reusable water bottles, we can all significantly reduce the waste caused by plastic water bottles. Living a sustainable lifestyle often begins with small changes in habits, and they can make a big difference.

We Encourage Recycling

One of the best ways to live green is to recycle. Not only do we have recycling bins in our office, but we also encourage our residents to recycle as well. Items you can recycle include plastic bottles and containers, paper, empty cans, and flattened cardboard. You cannot, however, recycle food, liquid, plastic bags, plastic wrap, or cups with wax or plastic coating.

Here in Fountain Valley, you can take your recycling to Ponce Recycling Center . This small change in habit can make a big difference for our planet.

We’re Excited to Announce Organic Waste Recycling!

Organic waste recycling will be coming soon to our local community, and we can’t wait to participate! This initiative will help keep millions of pounds of food waste out of landfills and turn them into compost and renewable natural gas. We’ll keep you up to date as this program expands throughout the state.

We want to do everything we can to take care of the environment and live green. If you are looking for an apartment complex that prioritizes a sustainable lifestyle, Serena Vista Apartments might be the perfect place for you!
